Calling all kids to join Kid’s Bell Choir

All kids from 1st grade through 6th grade are invited to join us as we learn how to read music, play together, and have fun as we learn a new instrument. We will be playing a couple times during the Easter season (Palm Sunday and Good Friday are two possibilities).  Please call Miss Cindy if you have any questions.

A CELEBRATION OF FRIENDSHIP February is a perfect time to celebrate the gift of FRIENDS.  Join us for Card Bingo, as well as enjoying other activities together.  Please bring a wrapped “red” gift ($2 value) to be used for the prize table.  This celebration is a great reason to invite a FRIEND to come with you for an enjoyable afternoon.  Questions? Christ Community Church – Our Biggest Outreach

Each year on October 31st, we offer our community a Harvest Festival.  Our front parking lot is transformed into a place where kids get to participate in various “zones”: Craft Zone, Fun Zone, Food Zone, and Game Zone . . . most of these zones with the added bonus of a candy treat!

Parents have the added treat of not having to cook since we bring out our bbq’s and prepare hamburgers, hotdogs, and baked potatoes (with all the fixins) at an extremely affordable price.

Our Harvest Festival is not just an enjoyable Halloween alternative, but is, at a basic level, an illustration of the gospel of God in Jesus Christ. Just as the festival is free to all who attend – so God’s offer of salvation is free. Just as the festival costs CCC money, effort, and time to put on – so the gospel tells us of God’s immeasurable cost to reconcile us to Himself. And just as the festival invites any and all to attend but compels no one – so the gospel calls people to receive God’s gift and give their life to Christ, yet no one is coerced into God’s Kingdom.

Some of the families that today call CCC their home church report that their first experience with us was on an October 31st evening at the festival. Our Harvest Festival not only has been a vehicle to bring families into the CCC fellowship, but has also created a bounty of goodwill with our neighborhood. We have the reputation of being a true “community church” which serves the community where our campus sits.

Yes, with our doors being open to our community on any given Sunday, our invitation is a warm welcome and never pushed.   Harvest Festival is the same, we invite all to join the fun as our way to provide our community a safe, family-friendly event for kids of all ages.

The coming of a new year gives opportunity for us to make fresh starts and new beginnings in our lives.   Yet, too often at the turning of the year the only thing that is new in our lives is a 2012 calendar.  So much simply stays the same.  Sometimes in the church we get caught in the “we’ve always done it this way” cycle as well.   However, this new year there truly is something new coming to CCC.  As you may have heard, we are launching Lifetree Cafe in February 2012.  Lifetree is not a literal café but is a place and experience designed to help people connect with God in a cafe-like setting.   The Lifetree cafe program was designed by Group Publishing and is now happening all over the country in churches and in business places.

Our Lifetree Cafe will need a team to be successful.   In fact, several teams are a part of this ministry.  Attendees will have an opportunity to become involved in Lifetree Cafe by finding a team that fits your gifts.  Come to one of the Lifetree Cafe vision casting sessions being held on Wednesdays January 11, 18 or and 25 -AND- Sundays, January 15, 22, 29 to discover how you may become a part of something that is truly new. It is going to be a great new year!

Well, the holidays are over and we find ourselves in 2012.  As Pastor Doug said in his New Year’s Day sermon, we get the chance for a fresh start; to have no regrets about 2011 and all prior years, and look forward and rejoice in the days ahead of us.  Let’s make the remainder of this Women’s Ministry season one of discovering God’s direction through his word, of extending a helping hand to those in need, and of growing in our relationships with each other.

Sociable Seniors’ Nat’l Pie Day Celebration!

• WHEN:  Thursday, January 19, at 1 PM in the Fellowship Center.

What holiday is pie a featured dessert?  If you guessed Thanksgiving, that’s correct.  A fact you probably didn’t know  – January 23rd is National Pie Day.  So, we want to celebrate with a party!  Actually, we’ll be celebrating Thanksgiving together as we watch the classic movie, “Charlie Brown’s Thanksgiving”.  Following the movie, pie sampling will begin.

“The 2012 Believe: Word Tour” is coming this month,  Jan.27 & 28 at Hope Int’l Univ. in Fullerton for 6th, 7th, & 8th graders.

• This two day event starts Friday from 6:30 – 10:45pm & continues Saturday from 8:30am -5:00pm.
• Cost is only $40 if you sign-up by January 11th, price increases to $50 after January 11th.
•  Scholarships are available.

This will be an AMAZING 2-day event!!!  Students won’t want to miss this!!!
