WHAT TO EXPECT
Upon Your First Visit
HERE IS A PEEK OF WHAT TO EXPECT
Christ Community Church is located in Buena Park, California. CCC is made up of about 260 members and offers a wide range of programs for kids, youth, adults, families, and seniors. We have a dynamic children’s ministry which means we have lots of kids around, but we also have many older folks as well. Children through three years go directly to their specified class room and everyone four years and older start the morning in the main church. After a few songs, the children have a special time at the front with Pastor Doug or one of children's ministry leaders for “Children’s Talk”. After, they are dismissed to their designated classes. Classes are available for kids through 12th grade.
We are located at 6575 Crescent Ave in Buena Park, California (between Knott Ave. and Valley View). To access a map, click here.
As you enter the parking lot, you will find the parking lot extends along the west side of our campus. Our service is in the building located closest to the main street, Crescent Ave. You will be greeted at the front door by a welcoming smile. Once you enter the sanctuary, feel free to take a seat wherever you feel most comfortable.
Children - Infants through one year may first be taken to the nursery located just across the patio from the front doors to the church. Two and three year-old children may be checked in at the purple door of the ‘B’ building located by the basketball court towards the back grass area. Children four and over begin the morning with their families and are later dismissed to their classes after Children’s Talk. SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP
Service begins at 10am and lasts about 70 minutes, opens with a song and welcome followed by additional worship songs lead by our worship leader and full praise band. Words to the songs are projected so it’s easy to follow along. Feel free to sit, stand, kneel, clap, or lift your hands during the worship time. Our initial time together is about connecting with God in the way that’s best for you.
After worship through song, the pastor or a leader in our Children’s Ministry leads "Children's Talk" by calling the kids to the front and leading them in a lesson. This is a great time for the children to connect with our pastor or another leader to learn a short lesson with life application. Once the children are dismissed, shared concerns and prayer are read from submitted connect cards and the pastor leads all in prayer before the message.
The pastor then gives a message from the Bible in a practical and understandable way with helpful life application. After the message, we take time to respond to the message through a song and offering, as well as communion on the first Sunday of each month.
Our typical morning schedule is something like this:
Gather Together ----------------
Call to Worship
Offer Worship -------------------
Songs of Worship
Learn God’s Word --------------
Pastor Doug Scholten
Blessed to Be a Blessing -------
Offering / Closing Song
Depart to Serve
COMMUNION - Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of every month. We invite all who trust in Jesus Christ as Savior and seek to follow Him as Lord of their life to share in the bread and the cup.
PRAYER - After the service, several people from our prayer team are available to pray with you for individual and specific needs. The prayer team members are located in the back of the church on your left as you are exiting the church.
We welcome you to stay and get acquainted with a few folks at our coffee time, 3C Cafe. Regular and decaf coffee is provided along with an assortment of teas, cocoa, and flavored creamers. Members are often providing scrumptious baked goods, too. 3C Café is a great time to meet some new friends.
Christ Community Church is a place where you can come learn more about God’s love, connect with other people who are following Jesus and worship together. We hope to see you Sunday!
