Pastor Doug Scholten

Senior Pastor

Doug has been senior pastor of CCC since 1989.  Born and raised in Minnesota, he was educated at Northwestern College and earned a Masters of Divinity degree at Western Theological Seminary.  He served churches in Michigan prior to moving to California.   Doug is married to Mary, a marriage and family therapist, and they have two  adult children.  Their son works as a software engineer and their daughter is a writer and TV news producer.

Doug believes that Jesus Christ is the hope of the world.  In a relationship with Christ, people can find help with their daily struggles, healing from their past hurts, and hope for their eternal future.

Doug enjoys kayaking, biking and sailing as ways to find re-creation in body, mind and spirit.
